Our story
Good homes start with getting to know the people who live in them.
Why PDA exists
Christopher Perrodin started PDA to create a more direct and approachable way for families to work with an architect. Clear scopes, transparent pricing, honest guidance, and an ongoing relationship with Chris help take some of the mystery out of the process – while keeping the design thoughtful and deeply personal.
Chris’ philosophy
-

People before aesthetics
The best design starts with understanding the people who will live there, not applying a predetermined PDA look.
-

A home should feel as good as it looks
Layout, lighting, acoustics, comfort, storage, durability, and adaptability all matter.
-

More isn’t always better
Good design means knowing where investment will make a meaningful difference, and where restraint will serve the home better.
Experience that shapes the work
Chris brings lessons from high-end commercial work, affordable housing, and building performance into his residential projects – combining attention to detail with practicality, efficiency, and thoughtful restraint.
-
Precision, coordination, finish, and understanding where details have the greatest impact.
-
Efficiency, durability, restraint, and making thoughtful decisions within real-world constraints.
-
Expertise in lighting, acoustics, thermal comfort, and energy efficiency, including Chris’s Certified Passive House Consultant credential.
Designing from lived experience
As a parent and architect living in NYC, Chris understands firsthand how dramatically a home’s needs can shift once kids enter the picture. Storage, noise, lighting, safety, and the little everyday frustrations you barely noticed before suddenly matter a lot more.
But the same is true through all kinds of life transitions – whether you’re welcoming a new baby, making room for an aging parent, or simply entering a new stage that changes how you live at home.
He brings his lived experience to inform the design for your family’s needs: close attention to how you live now, what may be changing next, and the everyday details that make a home truly work for you.
Let’s talk about what’s next for your home.
Whether you have a clear plan or are still figuring out what’s possible, Chris can help you find the right next step.
